Coldfusion 8 Released and available for purchase!
Posted by [Justice] in Coldfusion on July 30, 2007
With the 1st release of Coldfusion since it was acquired by Adobe, Coldfusion 8 will set the tone for CFs future. Adobe has done the usual and raised prices further into the stratosphere, and I hope that isnt a death knell for the CF I have loved since Allaire owned them and you could get CF Express for free. Maybe that needs to come back, and CF could compete on an equal footing with the free Perl and Asp languages. While Adobe did add tons of great new features, speed enhancements, integration with .NET and more, I believe the last thing they should have done is jack the price beyond what Macromedia ever had it at.
You can purchase or view details about it here: http://www.adobe.com/products/coldfusion/buy/
Here is hoping someone at Adobe figures out that you cannot take a product that is not a de-facto standard (like Photoshop) and bend over the consumers for it. Too many developers will head straight to the freebies.

Coldfusion sucks, or, why do editors continue to churn out senseless crap

Every so often I see these articles out there about how coldfusion is dead, or Why coldfusion failed. I tell ya, before some idiot magazine decides to publish moronic pap like this, why not write a bit in the language in question?
This article just seems to reinforce that the writer has no clue what the hell he is talking about. Granted, most of the languages I have seen on this page I have never heard of. If you google for INTERCAL, you get a whole 300,000 results, while coldfusion generates 14,300,000! How can you even put those on the same page is beyond me.
Please, before you write about something, how about you try looking into it a bit, otherwise you just end up looking ill-informed and ignorant.
